LILY URZÚA
Hi, I’m Lily Urzúa founder and artistic director of Urzúa Performing Arts.
I was born and raised in Mexico City, and I’ve been chasing movement, music, and creativity since I could walk. I started as a competitive gymnast at age 4, where I learned discipline, drive, and how to push through limits lessons that still shape the way I teach today.
But I’ve never been someone who could stick to just one thing. I was that kid who wanted to learn everything from ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballroom, tap, flamenco, Irish dance… to circus arts, figure skating, and musical theatre. I studied voice and flute at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico and later trained in circus performance in Montreal. I’ve performed and choreographed on international stages and at resorts across the world. But my greatest joy? Teaching kids and watching them grow on stage, and in life.
That’s why I created Urzúa Performing Arts: a place where kids don’t just learn routines they build confidence, creativity, and character. A place where we hold high standards and teach respect, commitment, and hard work but where fun, expression, and joy are just as important. I want every child who walks through our doors to feel supported, challenged, and truly seen.
And it’s not just about me teaching them everything I know it’s about growing together. I’m constantly learning and evolving so I can bring the best, most current tools and techniques to every student and every family.
This studio is built on a foundation of love, excellence, and deep care and I’d be honored to welcome your family into it.
